Navajo Stirling was a big winner on Week 5 of this season of Dana White’s Contender Series just seven days ago and the 26-year-old from New Zealand has already booked his first UFC opponent.
The UFC announced Tuesday that Stirling has been booked on the organization’s Fight Night event scheduled for Dec. 14 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla., against Tuco Tokkos in a light heavyweight bout.
Stirling improved to 5-0 in pro mixed marital arts and earned his UFC contract with a highlight knockout of Phil Latu.
Tokkos, 34, is 10-4 as a pro but coming off a submission loss to Oumar Sy in May in his UFC debut.
Stirling trains with the City Kickboxing team in New Zealand alongside the likes of Israel Adesanya, Dan Hooker and fellow 205-pound DWCS alumnus Carlos Ulberg.
The UFC has not officially announced a main event for the card but Stirling vs. Tokkos will presumably take place on the prelims.
