Rosas Jr. pulls out of Mexico City card sick; bout vs. Turcios may be rescheduled

Raul Rosas Jr. was meant to be the eighth of 11 Mexican fighters to step into the Octagon on home soil as part of UFC Fight Night: Moreno vs. Royval in Mexico City, but those plans changed last minute when the 19-year-old withdrew due to illness.

According to the broadcast, Rosas Jr. was trying up until the final moments to feel better and continue with his bantamweight bout against Ricky Turcios, but ultimately decided that he wasn’t in a condition to fight.

Both fighters are 2-1 in the UFC and were looking to begin their first win streaks while under the promotion’s banner.

It was announced on the broadcast the matchup was expected to be rescheduled for an event at the UFC Apex on March 2, however it was later reported by multiple outlets that UFC officials did not have concrete plans for the matchup and it was unclear if the bout would be rescheduled or scrapped altogether.
