The UFC returns to Abu Dhabi on the weekend with a Fight Night card on which the men’s bantamweight division is heavily featured.

Saturday’s main event will see Cory Sandhagen attempt to become the first fighter to defeat Umar Nurmagomedov in mixed martial arts and the winner of that five-round matchup could earn the next title shot in the 135-pound division.

In addition to the headliner, the six-fight main card also features Marlon Vera versus Deiveson Figueiredo in a battle between the most recent bantamweight title challenger and a former flyweight champion who has had huge success in his new weight class over the past nine months.

A welterweight matchup between Vicente Luque and Nick Diaz was originally slated to be the co-main event but that was replaced by Sharabutdin Magomedov vs. Michal Oleksiejczuk, a pairing of middleweight knockout artists, after the organization announced travel issues with Diaz and the bout was cancelled.

All 24 fighters scheduled to compete at Etihad Arena on Yas Island successfully made weight early Friday.
