WHL’s Wenatchee Wild trade Canadians Conor Geekie, Matthew Savoie

The WHL’s Wenatchee Wild have traded Conor Geekie to the Swift Current Broncos and Matthew Savoie to the Moose Jaw Warriors, the team announced Thursday.

Geekie and Savoie played for Team Canada at the 2024 World Junior Hockey Championship.

In exchange for Savoie, the Wild receive two first-round picks (2024, 2027), a 2026 second-round pick, a 2024 third-round pick, a 2027 fourth-round pick, a 2024 sixth-round pick and a 2025 eighth-round pick from the Warriors.

In exchange for Geekie, the Wild receive defenceman Josh Fluker, defenceman Sam Ward, forward Maddix McCagherty, two first-round picks (2025, 2026), a 2025 second-round pick and a 2027 seventh-round pick.

The Wild are second in the Western Conference while the Warriors and Broncos are third and sixth, respectively, in the Eastern Division.
