A'ja Wilson is an all-time WNBA great, and she is about to be paid like one.
The three-time MVP and two-time league champion is signing a six-year contract extension with Nike, in what will be one of the richest shoe deals for a women's basketball player ever, Shams Charania of ESPN reported on Tuesday.
Wilson, 28, initially signed a partnership with Nike in 2018.
The six-foot-four centre set a WNBA record by averaging 26.9 points during the 2024 season. Wilson added 11.9 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game on the way to winning her third MVP.
Wilson's Las Vegas Aces won consecutive WNBA titles in 2022 and 2023, and she won the defensive player of the year both seasons.
