Indiana Fever drafts Canadian Yvonne Ejim in third round

More red and white is coming to the WNBA.

The Indiana Fever have selected Canadian Yvonne Ejim 33rd overall in Monday's WNBA draft.

The 23-year-old from Calgary, Alta., set program records at Gonzaga for the most points scored in a single season and the most games played in a college career.

"I couldn't be more grateful to my teammates and all my staff here at Gonzaga for putting me in the position I am at today," Ejim said in a statement. "To say that I would be able to be in the WNBA draft looking ahead to the start of my professional career is a dream come true. I'm proud of myself and the people that have supported me, my family, friends, and my team. The work is only about to begin and I am excited for what is to come next."

The forward is one of only five active Division 1 players to have recorded 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in their career. Ejim was also named player of the year and defensive player of the year in the West Coast Conference.

While at the draft, Caitlin Clark's squad also picked up Makayla Timpson, a forward from Florida State at No. 19 overall, and added Bree Hall, a guard from South Carolina, with the No. 20 pick.
