Hours before the 2025 WNBA draft, the Minnesota Lynx and Washington Mystics are making moves.
The Lynx have traded their first-round pick in the 2026 draft to the Mystics in exchange for Karlie Samuelson.
The six-foot guard averaged 8.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists with the Mystics last year. She played the third-most minutes on the team with an average of 24:36 per game.
The move comes just over three hours before the start of the 2025 WNBA draft and is the second first-rounder the Lynx have traded away in 24 hours. Minnesota dealt their 2025 first-rounder, No. 11 overall, to the Chicago Sky on Sunday.

Washington has five picks in Monday's draft, including three in the first round. They will be picking No. 3, 4, 6, 23, and 32 overall. It is the first time in franchise history that the Mystics have had three first-rounders in one draft.
