Report: Canada's Kia Nurse signs one-year deal with Chicago Sky

One of Canada's top players is taking her talents to the young and hopeful Chicago Sky.

Guard Kia Nurse has reportedly signed a one-year deal with the Sky after spending last season with the Los Angeles Sparks, agent Bernie Lee told ESPN's Alexa Philippou Saturday.

The financial terms of the deal were not reported.

Nurse averaged 7.6 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 20.3 minutes per game over 40 contests with the Sparks last season.

A one-time All-Star, the Hamilton, Ont. native has averaged 9.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists between the New York Liberty, Phoenix Mercury, Seattle Storm and the Sparks.

She has bounced around the WNBA after spending the first three years of her seven-year career with the Liberty.

The 28-year-old vet joins a young squad boasting two premier 2024 rookies Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso. Chicago has also had an active off-season, acquiring fellow guards Rebecca Allena and Courtney Vandersloot to bring experience to the team's young roster.

Chicago finished last year 13-27, good for sixth in the Eastern Conference, and just missed the playoffs.
