A hand injury wasn't about to keep New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu out of the WNBA Finals.
Ionescu suffered a high-grade UCL tear on her right, shooting hand during the penultimate game of the Finals, ESPN's Alexa Philippou reported Thursday.
Ionescu will be reevaluated in four weeks, the report says.
Ionescu struggled badly with her shot in the winner-take-all Game 5, going 1-for-19, but the Liberty still managed to knock off the Minnesota Lynx for the title.
In Game 3, Ionescu drained an epic, 28-foot three-pointer for the win.
The former first-overall pick averaged 18.2 points, 6.2 assists and 4.4 rebounds this season.
