Kassidy Sauve is set to join the Premier Hockey Federation.
Sportsnet's Jeff Marek reported during Saturday's 32 Thoughts segment on Hockey Night in Canada that the Buffalo Beauts are expected to sign the 26-year-old netminder to a contract this week.
Sauve, from Whitby, Ont., played with the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association during the past two seasons, most recently with Toronto's Team Sonnet.
She also played with HPK Kiekkonaiset in Finland.
"Not only is she an outstanding netminder ... she traces her family's lineage back to Georges Vezina," Marek said. "Some hockey royalty."
At age 15, Sauve became the first female to play in the OHL Cup while competing with the Whitby Wildcats in 2012. She played university hockey with the Ohio State Buckeyes and Clarkson Golden Knights.
