Canada will open the 2027 world junior hockey championship against Switzerland on Dec. 26 at Edmonton's Rogers Place.
Hockey Canada and the International Ice Hockey Federation announced Tuesday the schedule for the tournament, which will be held from Boxing Day to Jan. 5 in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alta.
Canada will also face Latvia on Dec. 28, Norway on Dec. 29 and Czechia on Dec. 31 to close out preliminary-round play in Group B.
Group A features defending champion Sweden, Finland, Germany, Slovakia and the United States.
The relegation game and quarterfinals are scheduled for Jan. 2, before the tournament shifts entirely to Rogers Place for the semifinals on Jan. 4 and the medal games Jan. 5.
Canada finished third at the 2026 world juniors in Minneapolis and St. Paul. It was the country's first medal since winning thee golds and one silver between 2020 and 2023.
