Team Canada will be without Buffalo Sabres prospect Matthew Savoie in Sunday's final group game at the World Junior Hockey Championship, according to Joshua Clipperton of The Canadian Press.
The winger is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury, according to Clipperton, and has had a MRI scan in Gothenburg, Sweden, where the tournament is being held.
On Saturday, WHLer Jagger Firkus was added to Canada's 25-player roster, after failing to make the roster out of selection camp, which may have been in anticipation of Savoie's absence, after he did not practise that day.
Canada faces Germany at 1:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, with a win needed to secure second place in its group.
