WWE is taking its flagship premium live event to Toronto.
WWE chief content officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque announced on Thursday that WWE is bringing its massive event Money in the Bank to Toronto for the first time.
The show will take place on July 6 at Toronto's Scotiabank Arena, the first time a premium live event has occurred in the city since SummerSlam 2019.
“Toronto is an amazing city with a passion for sports entertainment,” said Levesque in a WWE statement. “We’re excited to bring Money in the Bank to Canada for the first time, as we continue to lock down the most globally focused schedule in company history.”
Money in the Bank most recently took place in the United Kingdom last year. The Canadian event will be the fourth confirmed premium live event to take place this year outside of the United States. WWE will hold Elimination Chamber: Perth in Australia on Feb. 24, WrestleMania Backlash in Lyon, France, on May 4 and Bash in Berlin in Germany on Aug. 31.
This is just the second premium live event to be held in Canada this decade, most recently in Montreal for Elimination Chamber 2023, headlined by Roman Reigns vs. hometown hero Sami Zayn.
Along with Money in the Bank, WWE also announced it will hold a taping of WWE SmackDown on Friday, and NXT Heatwave on Sunday at Scotiabank Arena. This will also mark the first NXT event in Canada since NXT TakeOver: Toronto 2 in 2019.
The Money in the Bank event is headlined by a match that sees the best WWE superstars battling to grab a briefcase that contains a championship match, anytime, anywhere.
The event will available to stream across Canada on Sportsnet+.
